This Summer

We went to Pocatello for the 4th of July. It was awesome! Tessa and Makayla didn't like the fireworks show at first. This year was the first time Tessa's ever been so close to them. The past years that she has watched them she loved it. But this year it wasn't till about half way through that Tessa started enjoying it. Makayla fell asleep soon after she started enjoying it. It was a really fun and very exciting show.

This was the first year I joined in the fireworks war. It was also the first time I won!
The fireworks wars are when my sister Laura and her family build a Battle station full of fireworks and then attempt to destroy each others. I won mostly because Larry (my little brother) gave me some tape that didn't burn so well. That tape is now banned from the wars, but I still think I would have won. My base was so short that not many of the others fireworks could reach it.


We went to our stack picnic. Tessa got her face painted and we all had a lot of cotton candy and snow cones. We had a cartoon drawing of us, It looked a little funny so you don't get to see it.

We all had lots of fun.




Makayla's birthday, was on the 17th

The last week of July we had a little family vacation.
We when to Yellowstone it was really nice. I was surprised how different it looks in the summer time.

This is but a small glimpse in to our Yellowstone trip. It rained one day it was really hot one day. The girls loved every minute of it. We saw geysers go off, strange colored water. We saw lots of animals. the 2 black dots in one of the pictures is a mommy bear and her baby. We saw a mommy elk wither baby, and lots of baby bison.

Before we went home from our family vacation we stopped at Hazen's sister's (Sheryn) house for Paige's baptism. Tessa was in girl heaven the whole time, she couldn't get enough of the girls' toys. Saturday morning there was a ward breakfast we went to. There was a little kid parade afterwards, and in the parade was a little shitsu puppy. I was holding one and Makayla kept crying to hold it. I picked Makayla up and she gently hugged the puppy, and didn't want to ever let go. I wish I had a picture for you. That evening Paige was baptized. It was great. Tessa wanted to be baptized after her, but after some convincing she agreed that she could want 'til she turned 8.

Monday morning I went horseback riding with my bother-in-law Sheldon. It was fun, its been a little will since I have freely ridden a horse. All the horse riding that I have done recently has been in a line of other horses on a path that they're trained to stay on. The fun thing about going where you want is you get to be in charge of the horse. Taco (the horse I rode) likes to eat while walking which is not allowed. One of the times he was tiring to eat he tripped and fell to his knees I rolled off of him only because I wasn't sure if I should make him stand back up with me on him. We were both fine but it did scare me a little, and Sheldon too. I was really sore the next day, but I think that was mainly because we made the horses run a little ways before heading back. Very very fun but I think I forgot how I was supposed to sit while running so my thighs got a little bounced around on the saddle which is hard and left little bruises.
