Regarding the littlest Snow Pett

So some of you have noticed the discrepancy in numbers between the Snow Petts and the Real Petts in our last post. For those that suspected this was on purpose, let us go ahead and get things out in the open. We are indeed expecting our second child. The due date will be sometime late July or early August. Tessa will make a great big sister. We are all very excited.

PS if anyone noticed Annette throwing up over Thanksgiving, that wasn't for the same reasons as Michael ;)

Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow

I've made a few changes to the theme of our blog, in honor of the first real snow fall of the season that fell today in Logan. (At least the first we've been in town for.) It's not Tessa's first snow, but it is the first time she's really been able to play in it and enjoy it. After just running around in it for a bit, Tessa and Annette decided to make some snow people. So they made a mini representation of our family. Hazen was a little bummed cause it will probably mean the end of scooter season and he will be stuck riding the shuttle in to school. Braving cold weather is one thing on two wheels, slick roads are a whole different animal.

Shop Victoriously!

My brother Andrew and I were perusing the ads for the Day-after-Thanksgiving sales, when what to our wondering eyes did appear but a 42" Sony LCD projection TV for $499. Andrew, being in the market for a new TV, was intrigued by the stellar deal. This TV normally sells for $1099, so this was truly an incredible offer. The only catch, there are only 10 available per store, first come first served. The more we thought about it the harder it was to pass up, so on the way back from Aunt Kathy's house, full from the wonderful feast, we decided to swing by the RC Willey outlet store, where the sale was to take place, and scope out the scene. Not surprisingly there were already people in line, about 7 to be exact. Seeing our window of opportunity shrinking, I dropped Andrew off to save our place in line, and went back to Mom and Dad's house for supplies. I arrived back at the store at about 8 pm and soon thereafter the line was full. The night was bitter cold and we didn't sleep much due to some drama provided by some people who arrived late but decided to wait it out just in case. Let's just say that they believed the event was called a Door buster for a reason. At exactly 8 am the store manager came out with ten coupons in hand and thanks to the bond we had formed amongst the first ten and the wisdom of the Manager the right people were rewarded with the coupons, much to the disgust of the 11th person in line who had incited the aforementioned drama. So both Andrew and I have a nice new TV. What did I need a new TV for you ask? Well I didn't really, but like I said it was a deal too good to miss, plus I figure I can sell either the old one or the new one and probably make some money off the deal, or at least come out even. eBay was definitely right though, it is better when you win it.

Condo Update

Unfortunately there was a little setback with the sale of our condo. The buyers didn't get the financing they were originally hoping for, so they are applying for traditional financing. The problem with that is they will need their W2's from this year in order to qualify, meaning the closing date will be pushed back into January. We're not letting them off the hook for missing the deadline though, we will be asking them to raise the purchase price to cover the two mortgage payments we will now have to make, plus they have to release their Ernest money so that if they back out now that money goes to us. We also will be able to continue marketing the condo so that if we can get another offer for more money or an earlier closing date, then the first buyers will have the right to buy the condo if they can close within a few days, otherwise we can cancel the contract and accept the new offer. Hopefully everything will be done by the 15th of January otherwise we will have some issues when it comes to our finances, so keep us in your prayers if it's not too much to ask.

Anywho, here are a couple of the photos that I masterfully melded. I took the one of the mountains, and yes that is Aggie Village in the foreground. The one of Old Main tower I got through a Google image search.

Hair Today Gone Tomorrow

Annette's birthday was in October, and for her present from Cassandra (sis-in-law, Hyrum's wife) she got a free trip to some ultra posh salon. The kind of salon that presents bottles of water only to those deemed to be among the beautiful people.

This is a glass bottle with 12 ounces of, and I quote, "Voss, artesian water from Norway." Pulled directly from the icy fjords I'm sure. Anyways to make a short story, that has gone on too long, short once more, here is a picture of Annette's new look.

Expensive Omen

So I've been going through all of our pictures recently trying to sort them in a way that will make them easier to find and also in a way that the content will make sense in years to come. While doing so I found a few pictures with a common theme that reminded me of Andrew's blog entry about a bad omen. These pictures are a bad omen of the future when it comes to our phone bill.

A Day With the Ducks

There's a small pond at the mouth of Logan Canyon, just minutes from our house, that is home to a whole bunch of not very shy ducks. We've taken Tessa there a couple of times now. She loves to let them take the bread right out of her hand, and they are not afraid to do it. There's a few geese there too, but they are too big and bossy so we shew them away.

Farewell Provo

We were finally able to sever the last tie to Provo, this last week we accepted an offer to purchase our beloved condo. It was a little less than we had hoped, but at least we got it done before the holidays. If all goes well we should close the first part of December. Thanks to all those who have prayed for us. We really appreciate it.

Trick or Treat

This is the first year we have had a family theme for Halloween. Hazen is the man in the yellow hat, Tessa is Curious George, and Annette is a banana tree. Annette did an amazing job on the costumes considering the budget she had to work with. We went trick or treating at some of the dorms. The students post a sign on their door if they have candy. All in all it was a fun night.
