Easter:
The Sunday before Easter we colored eggs at my sisters new home. Tessa loved it as always, and Makayla had a hard time letting her egg go into the die, but once she saw mommy do it she loved putting the eggs in the color. Next she was really mad that I was trying to take the eggs out of the colors, until she saw my egg and how pretty it was. She went in after her egg with her little hand. Her fingers were yellow for a day or two. I showed her how to us the egg getter outer thing and everything was good. She had fun coloring and sticking stickers on her eggs as well.
38 Weeks
I had my doctor's appointment on the 2nd , and it went just how I thought it would. I am still what I was last week, but she did strip the membrane (for real this time). Soon after I felt as if I was going into labor. We had my parents come down, and then it all went a way. I was very sad. My family and my parents had a nice Easter/conference weekend. We watched conference, went on an egg hunt, and watched conference, the boys went to priesthood while us girls went shopping, and then we ate at wingers. Mmm mmm good. That was Saturday. Sunday my girls had an at home egg hunt, we watched conference, ate great omelets made by Hazen, watched conference, and made easter wagons. This was a first for my parents, and with that my dad and I had a really fun time competing to see who could get the most candy on our wagons. I won by a little, and only due to my dad's inexperience making the wagons. That night my parents went home, and Hazen went to school Monday morning. I had Hazen come home early Monday night so that he could take the girls over to my sister's house. Since my water had been leaking all weekend, and no labor, I went ahead and planned on being induced Tuesday morning.
39 Week
So Tuesday morning I am now 39 weeks and my doctor is one of the only doctors around (every one else left for spring break) This is the first time a woman will be delivering my baby. Yeah for me!! When I finally get a baby boy, I finally get a woman to deliver me. crazy! Anyways I called at 7:00 in the morning to go in, but there were 2 women that had not had their babies yet, so Hazen and I got to sleep in for the first, and last time in forever. We got to the hospital at 10:30ish, I was started on the oxytocin/plitocin at about 11:00, and started having contractions at 12:00. My friend Sara come down, and later my mom and younger sister came. I have wanted to have poeple at my delivery since I got pregnant with Tessa, but it never happened till now. It was nice to have people to talk to, and to be able to have Hazen leave for food or what not. I was also thankful to have my mom there to keep the other people there in check. The only thing that really made it hard having every one there was being rushed, but if I wasn't rushed I may not have had Hazen Nathaniel on the 6th which is a really cool day to have him (Being Christ's birthday and all)
Labor and Delivery
Labor was great till about 5:00 or so because of being rushed. I needed to focus on one person, in this case Hazen, but I felt as if there were more than just him begging for my attention, so I got the epidural and sent every one to dinner. (I made Hazen stay in the room with me, but he did eat some snacks and stuff in the corner.) The rest of my labor was good even when everyone came back. At 8:00ish I was dilated to a 10 at 9:00ish I had my doctor come in, they got everything set up, I started pushing and about 10 or 15 minutes later Nate's little head and one shoulder come out. He had the cord around his neck which is probably why he come out in a little unusual way, and why it took me so long to push him out. When he was put on me, I was a little surprised because he was blue! I had never had a blue baby before. Very soon after, the nurses took him because he wouldn't breath right. About an hour later they all thought it would be best if he went to the NICU. I didn't take to that very well, but I did feel better when I got to see him even though he had wires and stuff coming and going every were.
Our baby boy
Hazen Nathaniel Pett was named after his dad, and Nathaniel meaning God given, also was one of the 12 disciples names, was born on April 6th 2010 at 9:22pm. He was 19.5 in. 7 lb. 8.6oz. Nate has almost black
hair, very dark blue eyes, my cleft chin, and Hazen's hair line. Nathan was also our first to go to the NICU, to have glucose problems, and to have to be under the lights because of his bilirubin being so high. (Little) Hazen is very healthy now weighing 8bl. and measuring at 20.5in. at his two week check up. He eats all the time and sleeps very well, He hardly crys and smiles when he knows he is about to be fed.
April
On the 10th we had a birthday party for our little Hazen. Lots of people come, and Hazen made a cake for him. That Monday I became a single mom till April 26th when Hazen's semester ended. My mom came down for my first week of school to watch my children while I was gone. Thank you SO Much Mom!!
May
On the 2nd my nephew was baptized. Its wired to see him be baptized because that means my sister has am 8 year old and i'm only 3 years younger then her. If feels like my tern is coming up soon. Way to soon for that matter.
Mothers day weekend was nice. We went down to Orem Friday night. Saturday afternoon I went to my sister-in-law's baby shower. It was really nice and I think she got a lot of nice things. when I got back to Hazen's parents home my girls were there with homemade Mother's day cards, and a little gift for me (The gifts were chocolate). Later that night we went on a date, while Hazen's parents watched our children. Sunday we (My family) went to my brother's baby's blessing. It is their first child, and I think that the first time a father gives his child a blessing is always a very special time in life. I was glad to be there with them. Then I got more chocolates from my sweet heart and my parents.
The last 2 weeks of school Hazen watched our children while I went to school. I finished that class with a B+, and then told them that I will not be continuing my classes till the end of this year. It was really crazy going, coming, feeding, and every thing else at the same time.
The rest of May was spent going to appointment after appointment, helping my mom get every thing for Hazen Nathaniel's blessing outfit, and cleaning the house for the day Nathaniel would be blessed.
Mean while Little Hazen learned how to roll over! Crazy cool to have a little 6 week old rolling over.
I went to Pocky to help Sara give here little one a birthday party. I made the cakes and she signed the big one.
June
Hazen blessed our son Hazen Nathaniel Pett with thy most God given blessing I have ever felt. Afterwards most everybody came over to celebrate the event with food. Some of my friends, and Hazen's friends, and my in laws Chuckles and Andrea didn't come, but there were a lot of people and love in spite of their absence. (Andrea is having a baby on the 20th and they don't want her to go early, that is why they didn't come up)
Monday the 7th, Nate had his two month checkup, He is 11bl. 7oz which puts him in the 50% for weight, he is 23.75in long which puts him in the 80% for height. He eats and sleeps really well (as long as he has his acid reflux medicine). He was sick for 2 days after his shots, and Hazen and I are both looking for employment, but other than that every thing is going great.
On the 15th my nephew James was born. He has the same hair line as Nathaniel. I think he is really cute, but I am biased because Michael and Hazen look the some when they were little, and James and Nate look a little alike.
